Playa Blanca Villas
Playa Blanca villas are located in the stunning resort of the same name, in the south of the island. The gorgeous coastal resort still retains the atmosphere of a once small fishing village. This flourishing but tranquil resort is ideal for families, couples, singles – indeed anyone looking for relaxation with all the expected amenities of the modern age. With its many beaches bordered by picturesque restaurants and a shop lined promenade, it is almost always basked in warm sunshine and offers superb views of the mountains and the islands of Los Lobos and Fuerteventura.
The resort has the stunning Marina Rubicon, with a host of waterfront cafes, restaurants and upmarket shops, as well as 10 pin bowling. A weekly market is held there on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. A visit to the marina is a must for everyone.
Within a short drive are the magnificent Papagayo beaches, considered by many to be the most beautiful in Spain. Access to these is by foot at the far eastern end of the resort, or by car. Please note that most car hire companies in Lanzarote will not cover you for insurance within the national park there – drive in at your own risk. Once at any of the coves, enjoying some snorkelling in the crystal clear waters, soak up the sun and generally relax. Naturism is encouraged on the beaches, but those with clothing are of course welcome too. take your own food and drink if visiting the Papagayo coves, because amenities here are limited.
From the harbour at Playa Blanca, ferries cross several times a day to Fuerteventura, only a 20 minute sail away. You have a choice of 3 different ferry businesses to take you, two of which are car ferries too.
Playa Blanca has its own bus service which covers 99% of the resort. The bus station just north of the town centre provides links to the rest of the island.
There are several taxi ranks dotted about at key locations in the town, or you can telephone for one to collect you at your villa. The information for these will be in your villa welcome pack.
